A Collaboration Years in the Making
Friday, November 5, 2010 | 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday, November 6, 2010 | 11:00am - 5:00pm

Arnt Arntzen and Virginia Ivanicki are two accomplished and respected visual artists working in the east side of Vancouver, Canada. After years of admiring each others work, and recognizing the shared loved for elements of flight, they finally decided to collaborate on a truly innovative and unique art experience: the Hangar Show.
Ivanicki’s paintings demonstrate a fascination with aeronautics; from WWII themed bombers and fighters to the aesthetic of seaplanes from the 1940s to the 1960s. Combined with Arntzen’s special interest in crafting contemporary furniture designs from reclaimed aeronautical parts such as helicopter blades and airplane propellers, The Hangar Show brings together two unique interpretations of the world of flight.
The inaugural show will be held just outside of Vancouver at the Seair Seaplanes hangar in Richmond, BC where viewers will be treated to an art show displayed in the company of seaplanes, while taking in works inspired by both artists' fascination with aviation.
